A vérité love letter to music makers and enjoyers.
On a rainy July weekend in Manhattan's East Village, the multitalented musicians behind Girl Skin diligently cut their sophomore album with the legendary Gordon Raphael. Despite - or perhaps due to - seemingly endless distractions of food, booze, and chaos, the pieces miraculously fall into place in true rock-n-roll fashion. Surrounded by the remnants of a once vibrant neighborhood, but well aware of the world rapidly changing around them once more, the group has nothing left to do but let the record loose.
When a global pandemic limits the possibility of travel, a honeymooning couple gets stranded at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel where a skeleton staff of two employees tend to them. When tensions escalate amidst a forced lockdown, it becomes apparent there is more to fear at the storied hotel than just cabin fever.
